The Meo Vac District Town is located at the end of a submeridian valley, surrounded by karst range landscapes, which is typical of the young stage of karst evolution. Located in the center of the town is the statue of President Ho Chi Minh. This artwork expresses the gratitude of the local people toward the President, who brought independence, freedom and prosperity for the Vietnamese people in general and ethnic minority groups in mountainous areas in particular. Built on the 83rd anniversary of the birth of President Ho (19/5/1890-19/5/1973), the statue, 3.3m in height, was designed by the sculptor Song Van of the Department of Culture (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), built of reinforced concrete and sprayed with copper emulsion. At the foot of the statue is a karst outcrop with solid, durable columns, symbolic of the love and respect of the local people towards the late President. Conveniently located, facing the town stadium, right next to the Meo Vac District Information Centre of the Dong Van UNESCO Global Geopark, the Statue of President Ho is the end point of the road "Happiness", which runs from Ha Giang City to connect Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van and Meo Vac districts. This is also the place where cultural and political events take place, where people of the Town as well as from surrounding villages gather during festivals, market days, or simply relax after their daily works. The Statue of President Ho is, at the same time, a tourist attraction.
